@NateSwift @nolight

Lidarr works best with usenet. There are good dedicated private torrent trackers for music though.

@XeryBlox most people who pirate a lot have automated setups that auto download every. The software stack that's commonly used is *Arr.

Sonarr for TV, Radarr for movies and lidarr for music.

There are also no ads when you go to the trackers directly via the API. Same for usenet indexers

@just_another_person

Makes sense. Since nobara is maintained by glorious egg roll, I would imagine that he would try avoid any issues.

Performance degradation after kernel patches is definitely a weird issue.

@I@lemmy.world

My response to his question is usually linux mint

@just_another_person @I@lemmy.world

Huh, I don't use fedora (I use #Nixos). Do those issues also apply to #nobara?

@Anafroj @daninet

I got an e-ink device because it's easier on the eyes and battery easily lasts a week when I go camping.

If it were possible to get an e-ink display, I would definitely use one for programming.

@mojo @protokaiser

You can convert them to azw3 with calibre. It's what I do.

@jgrim

Yeah Lemmy is definitely lacking polish in a number of areas. One of the things that bothers me most about Lemmy is that the local feed is the default instead of subscribed.

@jgrim @poVoq

Yeah, even though twexxit happened, there are still an absolutely massive amount of holdouts, so I expect rexxit to be just as slow.

@zigdon @toallpointswest @Hextic @atmur

Factorio is a native linux game. Are you manually selecting proton?

[–] zbecker@mastodon.zbecker.cc 2 points 1 year ago

@toallpointswest @Hextic @atmur

I am not arguing to get rid of proton.

My point is that proton is a stop-gap measure.

[–] zbecker@mastodon.zbecker.cc 3 points 1 year ago (6 children)

@toallpointswest @Hextic @atmur

A good well supported native port will always be better than #proton or #wine.

If you don't believe me just compare with a game like #factorio in the late game.

This is a bit of a cherry picked example, however, as resource usage for a game like that matters a lot more in late game.
