What do you guys use? I personally like Glitchwave for it's powerful chart building and the user reviews as a whole tend to align with my own.

Backloggd also pretty cool but a little more limited to use, and harder to dig up the old old stuff as its algorithms strongly favor newer.

Anyone else use these or have recommendations of their own?

Things like the cool new lemmy apps and the fold phones like the Galaxy Z Flip make me really want to change but it's tough.

Any so much of a mention of leaving iOS for android around my normie friends or family leads to weirdly aggressive responses. They want to by able to react my messages and rename the group chats in their normie iMessage. They want to be able to stalk me with their normie Find My Friends app. They react like taking that away from them is basically stabbing them in the back. It's like I just told a hardcore Trump supporter that Biden is #1 to their face. Normies are brainwashed.

It feels like I'm trying to leave a cult. It's like I'm trying to leave the Mormon religion. It's like I'm trying to get off drugs when everyone I know uses.

I just want you techies to know I'm jealous of your freedom. Maybe one of these days I can get clean.

Nope, unfortunately a lot of places now a days either don’t, are dropping support for it, or just don’t have good options. They want you on dem apps $$.

Fortunately tools like RSS-Bridge and RSShub make it an easy fix.

Yea, not selfhosted but I guess paid services still have their advantages sometimes lol. I activated the trial to test it out.. maybe one day soon a selfhosted option will provide it.

I’m getting around to setting up and trying to use RSS for the first time. I like it so far, except for one thing, the time efficiency of it. When there is a new story picked up by all outlets I have to hit mark read 5+ times for near identical copy/pastes of the same story.

Currently using miniflux but wasn’t sure if there where any other solutions. Honestly almost has me considering just spending $5/mo for a paid service like Inoreader or Feedly since deduplication is a big feature they advertise. Main thing stopping me is the fact they don’t index sites without RSS that I use RSS-Bridge for such as AP News, and I’m hesitant to share my selfhosted RSS-Bridge URLs with a public site.
