  1. Make sure you can't see a clock at night. Not knowing how late it is will stop your mind from going over at least one detail, how much time you have left to sleep.
  2. Get a notebook next to your bed so you can write things down if something urgent comes up in your mind. If you're like me, changes are you'll never write down anything.
  3. Try to not think about anything for 10 seconds or better 10 breaths. No toughts whatsoever.
  4. If everything fails, have a book or e-reader ready, so you can relax while reading for a bit. Nothing with LCD screens though, they tend to wake you up even more.

I should have specified that I mean the x-files type of UFO's, containing aliens.

At this rate with this mentality, we are going to have photo "evidence" of bigfoot and UFO's before 2030.

The dev could claim something like "prior art", or whatever the alternative is for software. Suppose I trademark the name "is-odd" for a company, should NPM now hand me the "is-odd" package name? This would surely break the internet in the same way is an this case.

[–] zout@kbin.social 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I get that, but suppose you start a package on NPM named "bronk". Sometime later someone starts a company with that name. Should you just be forced to give up your package name, just because people suddenly associate the name with the company?

Not in my book. They asked him if he would rename his package, he replied sorry but I'm building a project with this name, and they replied that they were going to send lawyers to do takedowns if he would release his project. This would also rub me the wrong way. Also, the dev was already working on the package before the kik company ever came to NPM. Why would he have to give up on the name for his project?

No idea really.

It's the same word on paper, but pronounced different. Italians tend to speak the vowels longer, with a slightly different sound (the "a" in American sounds like an "uh", in Italian like a long "ah"). They also speak out both t's separately.

Pronounciation differs in Italian, so when they mispronounce, it probably wont't sound like their American counter parts.

Not all gay people engage in anal sex.

These are the same people who would condemn gays.
