When pirate sports streaming sites use Cloudflare, Spain's LaLiga has a choice between blocking pirate sites and countless innocent sites using the same IP addresses, or walking away having blocked nothing at all. Having opted for the former since February, sites blocked as collateral damage have had no viable opportunity to fight back. The Immutable Domain Monitor, a new blockchain-powered platform designed to empower victims of over-blocking, aims to change that.

Streaming just keeps getting worse...

Online piracy is in the midst of an identity crisis. Sites born with one name tend to discard them quite quickly, before adopting a series of others, hoping to stay one step ahead of the law. Site operators, meanwhile, no longer court the gaze of the media, certainly not under their real names while revealing their future piracy plans. In 2010, things were somewhat different; once considered a public good, sharing books today can trigger an FBI investigation.

Spanish football league LaLiga is targeting the operators of popular pirate IPTV service FlujoTV in a U.S. court. In a new filing, the league requests a DMCA subpoena that would compel Google to hand over the personal details of users behind three IP addresses. Assigned to Google, the addresses were allegedly used to illegally stream a recent match between Atlético de Madrid and Villarreal.

In a major anti-piracy crackdown dubbed "Operation Domo," authorities in the Dominican Republic targeted an IPTV service that allegedly generated $10 million in revenue. The sting, supported by ACE and U.S. authorities, resulted in the arrest of four suspects who were reportedly convicted for similar piracy crimes in the U.S. just a few years ago. Whether the operation was effectively dismantled remains unclear, as a key IPTV66 domain remains online.

Through a DMCA subpoena directed at Cloudflare, an independent filmmaker is trying to uncover the identities of people connected to several prominent private torrent trackers. The legal paperwork was obtained at a California federal court and targets HDbits, PassThePopcorn, BroadcasTheNet, KaraGarga, and others. The information was requested for copyright protection purposes, without clarifying what this would entail.

I built Comick in early 2021, because anime and manga have always been my main favorites. Firstly, I saw that almost all manga sites were slow and out of date -> I think I can do better than them ( also I was native and think I could even purchase licenses if Comick grew enough, like Crunchyroll lol). Then, when Comick became popular in 2023, my dream focused on developing Comick to become the best manga site in the world, dominating all other sites. With the timer, I could help scanlator groups, and everyone wouldn’t have to deal with bad ads if Comick completely dominated.

But my fatal flaw was that I didn’t think publishers would target manga sites without licenses so aggressively from the beginning and I was too focused on features for Comick and forgot other things , and I dunno almost all CDN Cloudflare and domain providers gave my information so easily. Publishers got my real information before I understood that these things were serious.

The reason is, I am just an honest, straightforward man without a wife yet - I always thought I wasn’t doing anything bad and didn’t need to hide my identity.

In the end, I couldn’t finish my dream - I love to implement almost your good ideas suggested me. I really feel sorry that I couldn’t save Comick for everyone. Hopefully there will be a person who has higher skills than me, only takes minimum revenue from ads, and helps scanlators - someone who will appear to finish what I couldn’t continue to build.

***I always appreciate Mangadex/Bato/..’s developers built a great site and gave me a chance to build Comick and other wiki sites Mangabaka/Manupdates/… volunteers mods, users who helped me to build Comick

***I still wait a right time to build the export tool for you guys then you can export your list.

P/S: I will revive Comick if there is a way to publish all manga/manhwa/manhua with shared licenses even if I earn nothing from the site - haha, I guess we can only dream.

Italy's Guardia di Finanza has announced yet another multi-location pirate IPTV crackdown in at least four regions of the country. Assistance was provided by U.S. and Dutch authorities and at least 10 people are now under investigation. The news arrives days after DAZN, SKY and Serie A pledged to demand compensation from IPTV pirates already caught and fined by the state. With nine of those under investigation said to be resellers, the stakes are being raised at the consumption end of the supply chain.

Under new legislation passed in 2023, consumers of illegal IPTV services in Italy were warned that if police obtained their details, a fine would likely be issued by the state. This year a reported 2,500 people have already been fined but even for those who pay up, more trouble could be just around the corner. DAZN, SKY and Serie A say they have obtained the identities of those fined by the police, who they intend to pursue for "thousands of euros" each in civil damages.

Important Notice

First of all, I'd like to thank you all for being part of the Comick community and for supporting this project over the years. After much thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to bring this site to a close.

Although the site is no longer online, I want to reassure you that your personal manga/comic lists remain safe. I am currently preparing a dedicated page where you’ll be able to access and export your lists. Once it’s ready, I’ll share the link here.

I am deeply grateful to everyone who visited, contributed, and shared in this journey with me. Running this platform has been an incredible experience, and I truly appreciate the time you’ve spent here.

Thank you again for your support and understanding.

A new piracy study published in Russia has some good news, and some more good news. Due to blocking and lower payouts from advertisers, pirates' revenue fell by 14.5% in the first half of 2025. Search traffic fell too, down 13.9% with some pirates using morse code to thwart detection. With piracy on social media and hosting sites reportedly falling from 12.1% to 1.6% of piracy overall, the tactic of hiding Hollywood movies on RuTube's front page may have been overlooked.

The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), the world’s leading anti-piracy coalition, in coordination with DAZN, has successfully shut down Calcio, an illicit live sports streaming website, following a coordinated investigation led by ACE and in collaboration with DAZN’s anti-piracy team. The Moldova-based operator of the service agreed to cease operations after being approached.

Calcio drew more than 123 million visits in the past 12 months across 134 domains. With over 6 million monthly visits from Italy alone, it was the most popular sports streaming website in the country.

The service provided unauthorized access to premium sports content including top European football leagues such as Serie A, Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1; UEFA club competitions including Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League; international competitions such as FIFA World Cup and UEFA EURO; basketball leagues including the NBA; motorsports (including Formula 1 and Moto GP), tennis matches, and more.

The battle over a $1 billion piracy judgment against internet provider Cox Communications has reached the Supreme Court, where the company receives broad support. Amicus briefs from the U.S. government, major tech companies, and various other parties, warn that the current ruling creates a dangerous precedent. They argue that the Fourth Circuit ruling, which makes passive service providers liable for their customers' actions, invokes broad liability and puts people's internet access at risk.

The lawsuit between Nintendo and Modded Hardware has been settled, with the site's operator agreeing to a final judgment of $2 million. The proposed settlement includes a broad permanent injunction that bans operator Ryan Daly from selling, distributing, or even linking to circumvention devices such mod chips and hacked consoles. The defendant also agreed to transfer his website domain to Nintendo and destroy any remaining circumvention devices.

The Block BEARD Site-Blocking Act, recently introduced to address foreign piracy in the United States, did not emerge from a vacuum. It is the result of a multi-year effort that began with a non-public proposal in 2022. This initial version became stranded when stakeholders were unable to reach an agreement, but remnants of the early proposal remain visible today.
