I'm just happy to see Americans using the correct "you're" at this point.

They probably learned it at one of the elite universities everyone from around the globe comes to the US to attend.

Shouldn't the Americanized version of "you're" be spelled "yo'r"?

Hmm... Curious. 🤔

Edit: Didn't think I needed to state that this was a joke. I was simultaneously playing on the Colour → Color and Centre → Center. It wasn't that deep...

Ya'll depending on the state.

EDIT: Thank you all for the grammar lessons. Seriously. I actually do enjoy learning about stuff like this!

The word "Y'all'd'nt've" ("You all should not have") is used where I live with no sense of irony. Your friends do you a favor, and it's a natural reaction.

Y'all is "you all", the contraction occurs directly after the y.

The translation for this sign would be "y'all ain't lonesome".

Well that was uncalled for, sugar.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 5 points 2 days ago

Or y'alls, which could mean either your or you're depending.

"Y'alls dog got out again," or

"Y'alls really tryin mah patience"
