Yup. It'll never stop being ironic that less than 10 years ago Sony published an entire Ad campaign taking the piss out of Microsoft wanting the Xbox One to be digital only, and now they're literally doing the exact same thing
It wasn’t about digital only, it was about being able to share game discs.
Can you share digital games on PlayStation? If not, that kind of a difference without a distinction.
It was about being able to share game discs with no restrictions. Because with Xbox's proposed new system at the time, sharing game discs had some restrictions because discs were effectively just glorified digital copies. And this new system that Xbox was debuting finally allowed users to share/resell digital goods for once. Something that is still not a solved issue today. Sony just tried to focus on the major downside to that system and completely ignore the huge benefit.
