An unofficial chapter of the popular Dull Men's Club.
1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.
2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.
3. Avoid repetitive topics.
4. This is not a search engine
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.
There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.
6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.
7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

If you are that invested in fixing exhaust vents, do your kitchen one too. I guarantee is 10x worse, unless you recently replaced it. 🙄
I did something similar to fix a weird in-ceiling kitchen fan years ago. It was probably up there for 30 years and never cleaned. The black old oils were like tar. The fan wouldn't spin, only turn slowly. I couldn't save the motor though it was too badly cooked from the tar. I had to pull the motor and replace.
Look at Mr. Fancypants with a real exhaust vent in the kitchen!
Only because its 80 years old building. Its not really even a "real" one. Its a hole in the ceiling that has a fan. Doesn't even help with cooking because its so far away from the range. When we moved in we moved the range out from the middle of the counter-top because whoever installed it made it so there was only 1.5feet on both sides of the stove and you couldn't prep shit in that space. Best it helps with is smoke, and I dont burn much food.
As for the range hood, naw that goes nowhere, but it throws into the ceiling.
Range hoods with a filter instead of an exhaust - I'd like to find the twat that thought that was a good idea and kick him square in the balls. Hahaha
I don't even bother turning it on.
