Why do players care about the in-season tournament? (alien.top)

For most of these NBA players making tens of millions of dollars, why would they care about a measly $500k, as to them it is nothing. And guaranteeing a playoff spot for the winner might be a little extreme, so what should the prize be? More money?

Ah yes another post saying somehow people will care LESS when there's money on the line

I don't know how much more it necessarily incentivizes players, but they're certainly not going to care less when they can earn more for doing the same thing
