I switched to forky (current testing) the other day for the updated nvidia drivers (did not solve my issue) and it turns out that GNOME defaults to wayland. Took some time to figure that out.
Firstly, please don't use Debian testing. It doesn't receive security updates in a timely manner: https://programming.dev/post/20084040
Secondly, it looks like the versions of Nvidia drivers provided in Debian testing and Debian stable are the same:

https://packages.debian.org/forky/nvidia-driver-full
Perfectly capable of handling it, thanks. And yeah, i noticed that a bit late.
