Yeah I dunno what to tell you, I’m just pointing out that it’s not much of an original insight either. Menial, non life changing conversations are perfectly normal and fine. In my opinion what’s weird is how few people are in our lives and how little time we have to talk to them, and also the giant bullhorn in everyone’s hands when they go online. Everything becomes a stance instead of just shooting the shit and getting reproached when you are too much of an asshole about your dumb little opinion. This guy chatting in the corner with some colleagues about liking empanadas more than burgers? Seems pretty harmless.

Well, he literally called dissenters 10-y.o.'s, and that kind of behavior is not "harmless" as the mindset behind it bleeds into other, related abuse and negativity.
