Putting the referee aside (I don't want to keep talking about it), we competed a lot better than I expected. This should have been a walk in the park for Mexico if you consider the individual quality of our players, even though Rueda is slowly making us recover our identity.
I expected Mexico to give us hell in the Azteca and they did. Without playing that well but they had a fuckton of chances. We could have killed off the tie in a couple of opportunities in the first half, and that Choco header, but it wasn't meant to be. We move on. Overall I'm proud of the way we performed especially in the 1st leg, and for the first time in a long time, I'm hopeful for the future of this team.
