I have not received all my parts from ebay yet or I would test this directly. I've got a 4 port broadcom nic on the way and it occurs to me I might need a motherboard that supports bifurcation. It's specifically

LENOVO 90Y9355 Broadcom Quad-Port 1GbE PCIe Network Card BCM95719A1904G High

Anyone know offhand if I just bought a card I can't use? It's going in a system I know doesn't support bifurcation but I can't find anything one way or the other about this card.

you only need bifurcation if you need to split PCI lanes for something like multiple nVME drives, a PCI card does not work like that. was that an advice someone game you?
