Overview:

Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

Great another monster sized truck that needs to do a 3 point turn to get on to my street because they can't corner worth a shit. Even Maverick - which might be the smallest pick up I can get in the US right now is the size of a large to mid sized pick up.

Man I'd love to have an EV truck that is the size of one of the old Toyota pick-ups from the 90s. Make me a truck that I can see over the roof of and I am sold.

This is nothing close to a "monster size truck", it's actually quite small. Its smaller than a Maverick even. And while you can argue its not quite as small as the compact pickups of yore, there's absolutely no universe where it's "monster sized".

The upcoming Slate truck appears to be the closest thing to that ideal.

Yea I my eye on the Slate, I'll wait to see the rollout on that one.

I put money down on a Slate. It was the closest to what I wanted; a simple, no bs, light duty truck that's electric.

Their site puts it at just a little bigger than 1980's Toyota pick-up.

Same. Seeing this new Ford Montstosity just makes me appreciate the Slate more.

A Maverick is almost exactly the same size as a mid-'90s Ranger, which is a compact pickup. The only difference is that it's got more cab and less bed.

(Source: I parked my Ranger next to a Maverick once.)

The only difference is that it’s got more cab and less bed.

That is literally the problem.

The only difference is that it's got more cab and less bed.

The only difference is that it's got more hat and less cattle.

I remember driving my dad's mid 90's extended cab ranger and it felt huge. I have a core memory of trying to do a U-turn on a mildly busy street in it and how stressful that was for teenage me.

I should clarify: a Maverick is roughly the same length as my regular-cab, short-bed Ranger.

Looks like a ford maverick EV edition to me.
