Hello,

I'm looking at the Meze Classics 99 vs the 109 Pros. Obviously the Pros are twice the amount.

I am listening in a quiet setting, in the early AM while my toddler sleeps!

Took a hearing test and these were my results. My right ear has some slight loss in the top end. Doctor said if I do any headphone stuff it should be very low. So my question is, is one set better for ear health than the other?

Part of me feels like closed headphones (which I prefer) might be worse as they lock in the sound to bounce around.

It's a matter of sound pressure level at your eardrum. So being open or closed doesn't make a difference in that regard.

The place it does make a difference is isolation. With closed backs, you may be inclined to listen at a lower volume because you're not trying to overcome the ambient noise of the room like with open backs
