The article felt it really reinforces they know they aren't welcome, but are moving forward regardless.
They claim it was a misunderstanding, but now that Greenland is clarifying their position with the drilling team is still proceeding, I don't see how that is anything but being provocative.
It will be interesting to see how we fight after blowing all our missile reserves in Iran. 😒
I wonder how aware of the circumstances the actual drill crew members being sent there. Do they know they are being sent there as pawns or possibly expendable cannon fodder?
Yes, it will be "interesting" to watch you murder innocent people. Again. Shitstains.
You got me. I'm the Fediverse's biggest warmonger. How was I able to fool everyone else but you all this time???
It's an interesting strategy to try and take someone out of context when my full statement is right above yours, I never would have thought of that.
And why am I responsible for every action of my government even if I didn't vote for any of these guys, but you seem to bear no responsibility for what your country's government does? If I did that, I might worry I'd come off as a huge hypocrite. But you seem to do it flawlessly! Kudos to you, and your moral high ground. You have truly bested me today.
Wow, thank you for making me realize the power I have over my country's armed forces! I feel so much better now, let's open the Strait of Hormuz and leave Greenland alone!
Oh wait, none of us really has fuck all we can do about it. It's Executive Action, and even if Congress wanted to do something about it, it would have to go through the entirety captured courts. But they don't, at least at the moment, and the American taxpayer is just a convenient scape goat for people living in other first world countries to blame for the profits of global trade.
If America hadn't taken hegemonic power after world war 2 it's difficult to say that Europe would be as rebuilt and prosperous as it is today. As probably wrong as it was to let happen, American industry post war was what allowed the Western world to rebuild, and what unfortunately cemented that position of hegemony.
Europe is finally waking up to the problem they were lead into by easy postwar relief and relying on America to police the "radical" portions of the world into congruency with capitalism.
Now, European citizens that get the benefit of nations rebuilt by capitalism, but spared it's ravages by a much deeper history of worker solidarity, union action, and left politics, enjoy shitting on the American working class because half of them were sold on cheap, easily digestible propaganda.
I can't even remember what point it was I began trying to make, just that I guess it sucks to see the prosperity the first world saw because of American hegemony thrown back in the face of those who benefited from it less than they did, and are currently dealing with a serious constitutional crisis, instead of having some solidarity for people that are essentially the same as them. The average American isn't a representation of our political landscape, a lot of people are just eeking out a living on the margins.
Amphetamine rant over, sorry.
