Look at this dip during the last week !

Could it be an anomaly with satellite imaging, a random statistical blip, or is something huge just about to start ?

I’ve been following sea ice extent for a long time and the number one thing I’ve learned is to not get caught up by any given blip. Sea ice is a complex, slow moving system, so any wobble on the line in a given year is basically meaningless. Look at the year to year and decade to decade trends.

Like you, I've been looking at those graphs almost daily since 2023, but this dip caught my eye.
