I don't get how leagues have CBAs with officials that require them to keep clearly incompetent officials. MLB has Angel Hernandez, Foster in the NBA, I would guess the NHL has one as well, I just don't follow closely enough. NFL has actually fired people but has a whole different issue with officiating at large.

The more egregious part is that they don’t, actually. The CBA they have with the refs assoc specifically lays out that the NBA has the sole authority to dismiss officials that they find don’t meet the standards and score below a certain threshold on end of season evaluations. There is absolutely an avenue to get rid of incompetent officials, the league just chooses not to.

NHL ref Wes McCauly has personal beef with the coach of the Maple Leafs. It’s actually pretty similar to this situation with CP3

NHL has one, that's how Tim Peel wasn't immediately fired for getting hot mic'd saying he was looking for something to call against a specific team during a game. He got a 2-week early retirement where they didn't schedule him.

That one was more of an open secret than anything but yeah should’ve been fired.
