Does anyone know if this is effective if you've had chickenpox? Like the virus is already sitting in me.

Article doesn't mention.

It's vital if you have had chicken pox. Chicken pox is forever, it becomes shingles; the vaccine allows your immune system to continue fighting it in the form that has hidden from your immune system for decades

not 100% but it minimizes the severity of it, shingrx (the newer vaccine compared to zostavax which is a live attenuated version, just a larger dose of the chickenpox vccine) uses viral components instead. but it is known to have a more intense reaction to it.

if you are over 50+, its advised you get 2 series booster shots. along with other vaccines, like the new RSV vaccine.

If you've had chicken pox you should get the shingles vaccine.

I think that's what you are asking.

they only approve it for 50yo though, you will face resistance if you tried to ge tit younger, plus the side effects for younger than that are less well known. people allegedly have taken the shingrx version under 50, from another platform. they got shingles anyways, or one reported a more severe reaction to it affected the balls of one guy under 50.
