So I just did a little follow-up to my Retroid Pocket 6 review, this time looking specifically at the 12GB model and what those extra 4GB actually get you when it comes to retro handheld emulation.

I chatted to the developers behind Eden, GameNative, ARMSX2 and ARMSX3, as well as Retroid themselves, with each weighing in on how the extra RAM affects their respective emulators and where the 12GB model really makes a difference.

I also put the Pocket 6 through just the tiniest bit of testing on my own to sprinkle throughout. Hope some here enjoy it!

I appreciate the article and the headsup about a neat device. I also appreciate the notes you had about the looks and hardware details about it. I adore the ethics statement at the top of the article. Thanks for sharing all of your thoughts on this.

So when Retroid got back in touch and offered to send me the 12GB version, I found myself asking a slightly different question, what, exactly, does those extra 4GB of RAM actually get you?

Rather than repeat my previous review, I've spent my time with the 12GB Pocket 6 looking specifically for where that additional memory makes a difference: and, perhaps just as importantly, where it doesn't.

So this time, rather than going into too much detail on the screen, controls, ergonomics and everything else I've already covered, I wanted to do something a little different: what happens when you take this already powerful little handheld and give it 12GB of RAM?

Now, as nice as it is to look at and hold, though, that's not really why we're here this time besides covering the basics, I've already reviewed the Pocket 6. This time, I want to find out what happens when you give it 12GB of RAM.

I’ve already spent a lot of time with Eden on the Pocket 6, and the 8GB model was super capable. But moving to 12GB had me wondering whether those extra 4GB could actually make a meaningful difference to Switch emulation specifically.

You repeated the same thought in four different ways before actually getting to the point of that thought. I also noticed this for a couple other paragraphs you had written as well, just not as egregiously. Maybe consider more aggressive cutting of the article? I'm not sure why you'd want this much repitition.

Your lsfg-vk link is out of date too. They moved from github to here; https://lsfg-vk.dev/.

I adore the ethics statement at the top of the article.

The link to their ethics statement doesn't even go anywhere.
