This honestly feels like a lame attempt at stirring up gamer gate style controversies and get people pitted against each other over videogames in that way again.
There's people playing Sims and Inzoi with fully fledged developed relationship style game play and that's been going for decades. No one actually cares about this. It's interesting to see the article though so don't take this as a negative on you posting it!
My guess is, as someone else pointed out, this is Rockstar trying to drum up interest... And it worked...people are talking about it. I've never owned a GTA game in my life and I'm considering this one just to figure out what the hubbub is about...
The trailer did look really good. I've never played GTA myself, but this one is tempting to me as well haha
