No memes/shitposts/low-effort posts, please.
That includes posts generated by LLMs. It doesn’t matter if you “don’t have the time” or “would’ve written the same anyway”, or if “everyone’s doing it geez get with the times”.
For now it’ll also include “AI”-assisted projects that haven't had at least two months of (public, verifiable) dev time behind them.

I'm tired, boss.
Edit:
"Soon after launch". Fuck.
It annoys the crap out of me when people say "YOu can give feedback on Discord.
No, no I cannot. I dumped them when they decided to do an IPO, and from what I've seen since it was a great decision.
Yup. If Discord is your main point of contact, then you already failed community management.
Let's be honest, for most people discord is fine. There's a good chance of all the options they have, discord is one of the ones that reaches the most people. No option will fit every player.
Everyone can access a website. So of all the options they have, a simple blog is the best. Stop defending shitty practices.
Honestly If i have to make an Account for a Website for every Single game that would be annoying aswell.. If a game is on steam they should Post These Things on steam and be active in the steam Forums as devs.
You wouldnt have to create any account. You would type in their blog URL and scroll through a record of their updates and comments, no extra friction.
If they wanted to host their own forums, OpenID exists to let people use existing credentials. They could also embrace Steam's blogging and forums, as you said, which is better than Discord at least.
You know, it's possible to analyse and discuss a situation and the factors contributing to it without 'defending shitty practices'. I don't have a bone in this fight.
Well, I just liked that the old binder was blue and only I could access it.
No, because its a pointless devils advocate.
That sounds like "It's okay to post official statements from agencies and organizations only on Shitter because everyone has Elon's Nazi slopfest.
There's a difference between govt agencies and public organizations as compared to a private game company though. I wouldn't want the former using discord either, but it's honestly not a big deal and pretty understandable for the latter.
There are a few I've come across who have bug reporting vis Facebook.
It's a terrible idea to limit how people can contact you, especially to something that requires an account, and now quite possibly requires the limitless fuckery of identity leeching like that Persona crap.
They don;t even have a bloody email, FFS.
I agree with you, but the point I'm trying to make that most people here are missing, is that we are a minority. The average player is fine with and already has discord, and there's an argument to be made it provides less friction than making users sign up on a website or send an email.
Perhaps, but it blocks a segment of your customers, and that segment is often the more adept...
And, to be perfectly honest, the segment most likely to buy... Or to just flat pirate things and discuss them on forums with pirates rather than talking to you and payihng for your work if there are too many roadblocks thrown in their face because you are trying to reduce "friction" by cutting out anyone not using the most popular method.
I've also seen people set up a Matrix server that gets relays from multiple other places, or having bots redirect things to their Mastodon, giving peolple the ability to contact them from anywhere and let them reply from a central hub...
Though I've opted out of Discord linking because the idjits running it can't keep from losing their data every time I look in that direction.
