Why do you think they're a bot?

They automated mirroring posts from Reddit as a way to add content here (don't provide links to original posts either or make it clear that the content is mirrored). They don't really vet what they post either. Something thing they reposted from reddit was a person asking for help picking out PC parts for a gift, a post which the original poster would never see, and people here would just be wasting their time replying to a bot post instead of helping the OP. They've also repost the same article to the same community a couple hours later.

https://lemmy.world/post/51345527/25587759 A lot of the comments in this post point out that they are using AI to make posts and respond to comments.

Interesting, thanks for the context. Sounds like they are a person and not a bot though.

I'm 100 percent a person. People complaining are likely reddit agents trying to reduce content on lemmy

[–] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 4 points 3 days ago

Doubtful lol

People on Lemmy are just kind weird that's all.

Nah, they are anti-ai purists. And I'm not sure they're wrong. Using online AI just feels icky, it cannot be separated from the moral implications.

I like your posts, btw, they're good content.

  1. They have an AI generated avatar and profile banner.

  2. They admit to using AI automation to post things from Reddit with basically no human input between.

  3. They have recently been posting AI generated drama posts whining that nobody likes their AI bullshit. (they admit to generating their spiels with AI in those posts, too)

They might be a person, but since they use AI to generate even their comments, they might as well be a bot.

so, i've had some good conversations with them in the past. but i don't like the automation either.

Meh. Only if it's pointless regurgitation of the same issues on and on and on. I don't use ai for 99% of my comments
