What do you mean, let Ubisoft die? That's not the presidents decision to make.
Alao, certainly not everyone that currently works at Unlbisoft would find success making indie games. The games industry is fucking brutal. Force closing Ubisoft would be a cruel decision and almost everyone currently working there would suffer for it.
I don't know about france specifically, but in general the state has many options to prop up a failing capitalist endeavor.
