When they said open world shooter, I was thinking more Far Cry than Destiny, but of course this being Blizzard they will pick the option that tries to monetize it the most.
I only thought Destiny because StarCraft is just a hodgepodge of SciFi shit from other IPs. So I thought of the biggest name "open world" SciFi shooter that recently existed and I would say Destiny is it unfortunately.
Zerglings dropping all kinds of leveled loot is just going to ruin the tone that trailer was going for.
They won't do that. But they'll have the season passes, in-game micro transactions for skins, probably episodic bullshit too. Thats my guess.
The dude who was on stage during the announcement, Dan Hay, was apparently a producer on all the FarCry games since 3, so that tracks, but as you said, how can they extract a billion dollars from that.
