Either way they're not very good. Better off with an Apple dongle than this.

As someone who has both... No this is better than the Apple DAC.

As someone who has both, no it isn't. The frequency response on this is wonky and slightly boosts the mid-bass and reduces the lower treble. The output impedance is also very high further impacting the frequency response of headphones with variable impedance.

You may like the impact on the frequency response and that's great for you. But from an objective standpoint of getting a transparent amp/DAC this is not a good product.

Yeah unless you really want a knob and those dedicated outputs/inputs. Otherwise quality sound and price wise, apple dongle is goated!

It's a lot more powerful than the Apple dongle. Apple dongle does around 38mW max, this is claiming 140mW. You may not need it but if you do this could be a better bet. Plus volume knob and all the other stuff.
