Do you really think so? Not saying Ant isn't a tremendous athlete but I always thought NFL players had to memorize shit loads of routes and play calls and stuff, seems like a lot.

Hence the, “maybe he’d be able to get good”

Lot of work ahead if he really wanted to make the switch

The route tree is simple, there are only so many ways to run an out or a flag or whatever.

What's hard is being in the huddle and being told spider 2 3 X corner and having 2 seconds to remember your route in that moment and get to the right spot.

Then you add in hot reads and adjustments for that play and yes it gets very complex.

My assumption I guess was that compared to the 90's when guys were doing multiple sports, football has become increasingly complex and the amount of memorization required is probably too much for any athlete to compete in other sports simultaneously, especially one as involved as NBA basketball.
