I said nothing about them being open. A bunch of Chinese companies are starting to make RAM, so the demand will rise and prices will fall.

Also, they'll be tariff'd to hell in some countries for what will be MOSTLY bogus security concerns.

Yes, but it won't matter much. First, those RAMs will still be sold somewhere, reducing the global demand. Second, companies, including big ones, will push back against any such tariffs.

They're not going to mark their hardware prices at where they used to be - they're going to put them EVER so slightly underneath the captive market prices AI companies are paying to the western manufacturers.

Initially yes, but after a while another Chinese company will undercut the first, and then a third will undercut them, and so on. We'll have the same price wars that drove down the prices of EVs and smartphones.
