The Tennessee Titans were happy to get off the field on Sunday, and not just because they lost their second game in a row.

Amid sweltering conditions in Nashville, the temperature on the artificial turf at Nissan Stadium reached 157F (69.4C), according to the Fox broadcast.

“It was hot as shit, everybody was as hot as shit,” Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said after his team’s 24-20 win. “I didn’t play a snap and I had to get an IV. I … appreciate how much the players fought through because it wasn’t easy.”

157 degrees on the field.

These players need to strike over this shit. If it's getting that hot on the field, they need to be playing after sundown.

There were already a lot of grumbles about the stadiums that put in natural turf this summer for the FIFA World Cup only to switch back to artificial for the NFL season.

Weirdly a few years ago when the FIFA Women’s World Cup was in Canada, FIFA made all the stadiums switch to artificial turf for the tournament, even stadiums with natural fields. They were using it as an experiment but the players did not like it, so I guess it’s natural turf only now.

They should at least bring some steaks down there and sous vide them for after the game. (Obviously not to 157°F. That's barbaric.)
