This is a fucking stupid take in a country where one straight-down vote maintains the (not-so-great) status quo and the other elects literal child fucking Nazis who are hell-bent on crushing the working class.

if you're always one vote away from losing your rights, then you never had any rights to begin with. If you're always one vote away from electing nazis into power, then your system has always been ran by nazis.
