Post guidelines

Title formatPost title should mirror the news source title. If you don't like the title of article, look for an alternative source instead of editorializing it.
URL formatPost URL should be the original link to the article (even if paywalled) and archived copies left in the body. It allows avoiding duplicate posts when cross-posting.
[Opinion] prefixOpinion (op-ed) articles must use [Opinion] prefix before the title. Opinion articles refer to articles that their publisher doesn't explictly endorse.
Country prefixCountry prefix can be added to the title with a separator (|, :, etc.) if the news is from a local publisher who doesn't clearly mention the country.

Reddit is ending support for RSS feeds, as the company continues tightening access to its trove of user-generated content.

I thought API access was already dead? Thats the reason a lot of us are here... (But not the reason we stayed ;) )

They made it paid

Free API access was dead. API still existed but every user needed their own key and it was IIRC paid, even for dev work.

Now it seems they’re just closing it down entirely.

I may not understand this correctly so take this with a grain of salt but I believe there was a few different APIs going on. The one that allowed all data to apps to function was killed and why we are all here. I believe this was more of a content reader, no interaction from the user.

why we are all here

That isn't why I am here

Third party apps had to pay to access the api, and with no good way to pass that on the the users without ads, it did essentially freeze it.

RedReader still works with Reddit on the basis it's providing accessibility features which was a carve out they got during the exodus.

Things like Stealth never used the API but did scraping which I think is dead now due to mandatory login.
