A separatist party narrowly won Quebec's election on Monday, a result that could make it tougher for Prime Minister Mark Carney to maintain national unity against U.S. President Donald Trump. Provisional results showed the province of 9 million had opted for the Parti Quebecois of Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, which is promising to hold a referendum on breaking from Canada once Trump leaves office.

Why a separatists movement now, when Canada can join the EU. Quebec gets to be closer to France with Canada joining the EU.

Because it’s the Quebec provincial elections and every news site wanting clicks drags out the Sovereignty crap every time … guaranteed.

[Edit] Sovereignty news is so hot right now too.
