.ML users left in shambles.

You know, if they could still access lemmy in general.

[–] Azazel@lemmy.ml 49 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (6 children)

Real. I joined it cuz it said it was FOSS focused and run by the creators of Lemmy which I thought was neat. Did not realize it was a tankie cesspool. I’m now banned from a good portion of it for “Nazi apologia” because I said calling Ukraine Nazis was Russian propaganda

[–] CrimeIsLegalNow@ani.social 33 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Just jump instances. I might have my reservations about how the aversion to monetization means a lot instances are unstable or slow with no real incentives or even funding to improve it but there's certainly something to be said for decentralization.

[–] stringere@sh.itjust.works 22 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I'm glad the instance I chose based on URL ended up being pretty good because sh.itjust.works.

[–] Jumi@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

I choose lemmy.world because it was top of the list and I had no idea of anything when I came over from Reddit back then

[–] Noel_Skum@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Some people reckon we’re a Nazi instance… shrug emoji.

I’m not sure why - but have read it a few times. If someone in the know could clue me in if there is actually some back lore to the claim I’d appreciate that.

[–] Noel_Skum@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

I’ve just read it in passing more than once… but some people like to throw buzz words around and generalise so that could be the case here.

[–] late_pessimistic@slrpnk.net 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I wouldn't think too much into this claim unless there is evidence

[–] Noel_Skum@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

Just wondered why anybody would think such a thing…

[–] FunStuffIsFun@eviltoast.org 1 points 1 week ago

Y'all have the best space industry community.

[–] dummyboymc23@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

How do you change instances

[–] CobraCommander@quokk.au 16 points 1 week ago (3 children)

It’s just Ukraine, no “the” in front.

[–] Azazel@lemmy.ml 9 points 1 week ago

Right thanks for the reminder

[–] dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works -4 points 1 week ago

Sounds like something the Russia might say... 🧐

I have a confession:

When I joined, I thought ML was for Machine Learning.

[–] Noel_Skum@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I initially thought .ml was literally the TLD for the nation of Mali - so was super confused.

[–] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 10 points 1 week ago

I mean, it is. But it's one of the TLDs that allows wider use.

Only a few national TLDs require being related to the country, or at least being located in the country.

[–] late_pessimistic@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 week ago

I thought ML is just two letters from Lemmy and it sounds nice

[–] FunStuffIsFun@eviltoast.org 1 points 1 week ago

You're welcome to join the toast gang. We don't have much, but we have an awesome logo and a cool name.

[–] LocalAreaMan@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago

Why would anyone say that?

"When you sit with eleven Nazis, there are a dozen Nazis"

[–] NonconfrontationaI@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Who? Traffic seems fine to me.

[–] Azazel@lemmy.ml 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You may be new enough not to have encountered this yet but our instance has a well earned reputation of being Soviet boot lickers. Be careful on .ml meme subs and stuff, you’ll catch a permaban for saying anything pro Ukraine or in any way interpretable as anti Russia

[–] Gerudo@lemmy.zip 13 points 1 week ago

Oh...they know exactly what .ml is

[–] Godric@lemmy.world -3 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] NonconfrontationaI@lemmy.ml 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Jesus do you have a goldfish brain? We interact all the time lol.

I got locked out of my OG account.

[–] Godric@lemmy.world -2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Do we? You might be overestimating your impact as a person, or I maybe I only pay attention to the usernames of people who make a big positive difference on my flavor of the fediverse!

All the same, brand new accounts are fishy as fuck, especially with 0 posts. Try creating, not just critiquing!

[–] NonconfrontationaI@lemmy.ml -1 points 1 week ago

Lmao. Try not voting for genocide next time!
