Could you NSFW tag this? Getting reports about rule 4 and 6 that are reasonable, but if it's behind a tag, I think it's fine.

I'm running PopOS and Debian with Nvidia cards that should be affected by this, if I'm understanding this right. Ugh.

What a pain.

This didn't have such a wholesome outcome for Cricket.

Nearly dropped my phone

It deserves all the praise it has received. What an incredible game.

I think it's the harsh consonant sounds. I'm not a linguist and am sure there's some term for it, but it seems like we identify words in English more from the distinct "framing" of the consonants and are more flexible about hearing variations in how the vowel sounds in between are pronounced.

For example, it's the same reason that whispering (which largely takes out tone/pitch of vowel sounds) is super easy in English, but more difficult in some other languages.

I think it does a good job of showing the reality of how clunky integration of different groups can be, and how even in a future where humans have "solved" racism amongst themselves, it's not a lesson that can be buried with the past yet.

The frustrations that the crew has with Spock's behaviors that are baffling to them, and vis versa, how Spock feels (and frequently verbalizes) about what he thinks are human failings, are very real reflections of how different groups learn to understand each other better. The friction of their interactions is the point, as well as showing that they are incredibly loyal to each other and care about each other's wellbeing at the end of the day.

This is the heart of Star Trek, in my opinion - seeing them actively grow together despite their occasional rude outbursts and misunderstandings.

I had to look up the exact exchange, because this line always makes me laugh too. Her tone, lol

KORBY: You think I could love a machine?

CHAPEL: Did you?

Start where it all began! The original is a fun watch.

If it elicits a groan, it's peak dad humor.

I think that's just the proper emotion after ingesting content on twitter.
