Probably a noob question, but I wonder if someone has experience with that. I am looking to buy a TV and I wonder is it makes sense to buy one with decent HDR capabilities, when my plan is to watch pirated movies from my Linux device via HDMI. Is that technically possible? Is it easy?

If it matters, I am on Fedora silverblue.

I don't have a graphics card and my 6th gen intel processor doesn't have HDR capabilities. So i just use my plex server to watch HDR movies on my smart tv's and they work great. My TCL tv will tell me as soon as the movie starts if it's Dolby Vision, HDR, HDR10, or HDR10+ which is really nice. My Hisense TV doesn't do that.
