If you have clothes that haven't been washed in years, definitely throw them away.
But if you go down the infuriating rabbit hole of Albert Clarke , you'll see he had so little regard for money that he & his 4 children would wear clothes only TWO OR THREE TIMES, buy new clothes, and throw the old ones away. Albert Clarke has never worked a day in his life, just has money constantly showering down upon him. AFAIK he's still alive, currently 83 years old and his unearned undeserved book royalties will continue showering down upon him until he's 99. And he's never done laundry.
