Hi friends. I am looking to up my 8TB drives to 10TB drives in my 2 bay synology? Looking at Amazon they have refurbed enterprise drives for $75 but they list a "power disable" drive. I am not sure what that means. Does it have an adapter that attaches to the drive between the sata power connection and the MB sata power connection? Does this rule out working in my synology or drive enclosures that have a backplane for the connection?

It depends on your specific model of Syno, but many backplanes are Molex-powered and also do not provide power on the 3.3v pin to the drive, thus avoiding the PWDIS issue.
