Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on. Keep on-topic

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Senator Chris Murphy says he has been briefed on the US's plan to restart the war on Iran, calling it "insane" and saying it would lead to a "devastating escalation".

"You've heard a preview that it would be a short-duration plan. I'll just say this: their plan is insane," Murphy said, speaking at an event organised by the Middle East Institute in Washington, DC, on Wednesday.

"It will lead to devastating escalation and the likely destruction of our commitment to the rule of law."

...

"There's been open reporting as to what we may be planning and the civilian infrastructure we may be targeting," Murphy said.

"They've been asked by the president to develop a plan - whether they believe it will work or not, I do not know. But the plan that they have developed will lead, in my view, to a prolongment and an escalation of this war that will be devastating for our security interests.

"We are seeing the president ready another devastating military campaign after the election, just as illegal as the first iteration was at the time, where Americans are fed up with this war."

people not voting because they didn't get their candidate is what hurt more than how corporate dems pushed him to the side. Its the same for what happened to Harris who was corporate , Hilary was corporate just not crazy corrupt and backed by the heritage society and tech bros.

Sure, but I'm talking about the politicians, as that's what the controlled opposition theory is about. Democrat voters may want progressive policies, but Democrat politicians find ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory when they "push" for those things time and time again. The politician's goal is allegedly not to represent the left, but to spoil their efforts and prevent us as a country being dragged to the left. Hillary and Kamala were both pushed into the lead with no regard for the will of the voters, albeit through different means in each case, and they both help shut out more progressive wings of the party so they couldn't get genuine power.

because they didn't get their candidate

On the one hand, you're not exactly wrong. We got fucking Trump out of that, and it's still haunting us a decade later. On the other hand, I don't think it's entirely fair to treat them like petulant children for being upset when the democratic process is so flagrantly manipulated in front of their face to rob them of their democratic power, just because the means used to do so were technically legal. I still think Bernie would have won the primary if the DNC hadn't sabotaged him, and just fucking imagine the world we'd be living in if we got just 4 years of Bernie instead of god damned Trump. That was the will of the voters. And the DNC stole that from us to shove a corporate Democrat down our throats, enabling Trump's rise.
