MODERATORS

Ive watched every team’s commentary crew at least once this season. This is my mostly unbiased opinion on each of them, listed by tiers. Please comment your own commentator opinions. What did i get wrong.

Tier 1: The best of the best. These guys know how to make the game exciting. They provide insightful commentary that make a story out of every game. with appropriate balance of homerism and respect for the opponents and their highlights. Know how to pronounce 99% of player names, have great chemistry with one another, and make highlights memorable, and have great voices.

Knicks, Hornets, Lakers, Nets*,

Tier 2: Great but not perfect. These guys are amazing, and provide a good viewing experience, but for some reason or another I couldn’t include them with the top of the top tier. Either way, these guys are great commentators and should be happy with their respective performances.

Pelicans, Pacers, Timberwolves, Hawks, Heat, Spurs, Kings, Jazz, Bulls, Magic, Spurs, Trailblazers, Pistons, Raptors, Wizards*, Thunder,

also this is random, but is it just me or do the pacers and hawks play by play guys sound exactly alike? I cant tell the difference between their voices.

Tier 3: Ehh, these guys are alright, have their moments, but mostly are just pretty neutral, usually switch over to the other teams crew.

Mavericks, Grizzlies, Bucks, Nuggets, 76ers*, Rockets

Tier 4: Shit. Have not had a good experience with any of these broadcasts. Part of it is almost certainly bias, as a lakers fan, (can’t stand boston accents) but these guys just are not fun.

Celtics, Warriors*, Suns, Clippers

Also the asterisk means they could be a tier below, but i gave them benefit of the doubt.

Apparently Mike Gorman doesn’t have enough vocal fry for lakers fans
