I'm sure I'm the billionth person to make this observation, but why is the MNF hype up song this year Chris Stapleton doing a cover of someone else's song (In the Air Tonight)? Like he couldn't write something original? Or at least do one of his own songs?

Covers are fine obviously, especially if you do something to make it unique in some way. And that's a great song especially given the context. But it just seems weird if the producers were like, "Chris, so glad you're on board with the MNF team! Don't know how to say this but uh...we listened to your catalogue and uh, we're gonna request that you channel some Phil Collins instead..."
