I'm just looking for others to confirm my suspicion on the watch's authenticity. I wish there was a clearer image too..

In this case it’s a pretty obvious fake. The smp300m was never made without a helium escape valve especially in full gold

Yes this case is obvious but OP also asked why would someone requiring a loan own a nice watch.
