Ok I made the joke but with how late the whistle was I think Bron was chirping at the official on the way down court. So instead of letting it go he decided to call the flop.

I think they just wait until a lull in the game to call it so they don’t interrupt any offensive/defensive possessions

That’s right. They said they would do that when they announced it. It’s just be so rarely actually called that we haven’t seen it much.
