In the days of player empowerment and constant moving around teams, it feels like there are more players than ever that are guarantees for the Hall... but possibly no teams that want to hang their number in the rafters. Who do you reckon falls into this category?

Lamarcus Aldridge.

And yes he's very likely to make the HOF with his stats, credentials.

A lot of potential HOFers won't get their jersey retired when you realize there's way more to making it to the HOF outside of being a team lead and winning a ring.

I don't see Horford getting his jersey retired here in Boston, but he'll be in the Hall of Fame for his college career alone. Then you add on his longevity and a possible ring with Boston (hopefully this year) and it's hard not to see him get in on one of the ballots.

Yeah, people who say he won't make it have no clue on how players make it. In a star driven league, to make 7 All-Star games and a few All-NBA teams is definitely enough.

Career with Spurs was too short and its potential got shut down when Kawhi got injured and left

I think the Blazers might do it if they do Roy and Aldridge together. Current GM has been there since they were drafted so it might be something they look into in the late 2020s.

Otherwise, the way he exited Portland left a sour taste.
