It comes down to reducing demand. EVs are a part, so is reducing plastic use, so is public transport. Converting buildings and industrial processes off methane is on the list. If demand doesn’t drop then they will keep drilling.
Since I've been working remotely I don't even need a car, being gas powered or electric. I'm sure that won't work for all, but it's a start. Or it would be if CEOs would pull their heads out of their own asses.
