All things considered, using synthetic orphan paste has a bigger carbon footprint, due to all the CO2 those orphans will create in the future

Yes, but there's a clear surplus population of dogs! And the dogs cannot so easily work the mines and the fine machinery of the factories as can the orphans! You must consider the economy in these matters.
