So... Queer folks have created queerphobia? And Black and brown people, racism? And disabled people, ableism? And abuse victims, their own abuse? And so on..?
Fuck this gaslighting victim blaming noise.
It's a quote from Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". Scrooge is told this by the ghost of an old business partner, warning him that his miserly greed has consequences. It's a good book, but if you're not up for reading it, you can get the gist from "The Muppets Christmas Carol". ๐
So my point stands - this isn't about "self fulfilment and happiness", nor is it in any way a motivational quote.
