Lions fights other cats in their pride. How often do Tigers even run into another tiger? So experience goes to the lion.
Tigers kill by grabbing the throat with their teeth and letting the prey suffocate. Lion has a big wirey mane around his neck - something evolution gave him for... Fighting other big cats.
Yes the tiger is bigger, but the lion has the tools and experience to overcome that small size difference.
All the time. While tigers lead solitary lifestyles, they're not devoid of socialization. Territories overlap and lead to peaceful interactions and conflicts over borders. Sometimes they even cooperate in hunting or live together, though that's less frequent. The nature of their interactions is mostly dictated by sexual relations and the ratio of tigers to prey.
This is not meant to contribute to the tiger vs lion issue.
I also think it's interesting to note that while the mane serves a practical purpose, it's also wildly oversized as a result of sexual selection.
Sweet baby cheesus I love me some mane. Ooh, yeah, baby girl, wear that mane!
I may be confused.
Menagerie in Turin (1830): A tiger attacked a lion but was overpowered. The lion pinned the tiger, held its throat, and eventually killed it by clawing its abdomen open[2].
Circus in Verona (1808): A tiger attacked first but ultimately yielded to the stronger lion during a fight observed at a circus[2].
Clyde Beatty's Records: The famous animal trainer claimed that his lions consistently defeated tigers during live performances, with one lion named Sultan reportedly beating every tiger it faced[5].

This is the kind of over enthusiastic answer I wanted
I'm curious to see the fight now and at the same time I know it'll just be a horrific blood bath

Where can I subscribe for more lion vs tiger fight reports?
Let's assume both sides are in optimal condition. Siberian Tiger average weight range goes up to 570 lbs, max recorded weight was over 930 lbs, average Lion weight range goes up to just under 500 lbs, largest recorded Panthera Leo was 825 lbs.
So at least in weight class, the Tigers should on average outclass Lions. It's a real Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather situation, except their fists are covered in blades.
There are more then one species of tigers though, so the tiger average should be lower. I'm not able to tell what species is pictured there though - if it is siberian, then ok, pretend I didn't say a word.
There are also a couple subspecies of leo but I stated in my comment "assume optimal condition".
I don't know how long that video actually is, but a lot of it is made up of unrelated clips of lions and tigers not even in the same location with a couple of clips of lions and tigers "fighting" for less than a minute before they both back off.
Oh Tigers also kill by ripping and shredding when the occasion calls for it...
