Were slave owners in the US convicted for crimes against humanity?

Okay then, what criteria should I use for determing if someone committed a war crime? I assume the floor is considerably lower, unless you think compulsory service puts her on the level of Hitler.
Maybe consider whether or not they have served in a military that's been a genocidal occupation force since its inception?

It's not actually mandatory - out of the 4 Jewish Israelis I've volunteered with only 1 had served in the IDF, the other 3 found nonmilitary ways to complete their national service, doing things like teaching instead. Not all Jewish Israelis are war criminals. Not all Jewish Israelis even support the existence of the state of Israel.
