Betting his own team to win may not sound too shady. Betting his team to lose would be a crime. Zaniolo isn't known to be a smart guy, so the worst can't be ruled out.

Genuinely think players should be allowed to bet on their team winning (as long as there is no spread). It could create some amazing performances. I also imagine Romero betting absurd amounts on Tottenham.

Fking no lol then we would get far greater attempts to influence the result. Players are one degree of separation from on the pitch refs while all other bettors are realistically two or more away.
