Was Ron Harper really a point guard or just a big wing defender that got "slotted" into the PG position (and it didn't matter that much due to the triangle?)

It's very interesting that they're trying to mold him into a PG. His handle and shot are both pretty rough right now but it could pay off big time, he's already such an impactful and versatile defender. Even if it doesn't end up working he can just slot in on the wing anywhere.
