I initially was going to post this in r/NBA_CBA_QandA, but it's been inactive for long time.

Question is the headline: thinking about Miles Bridges situation. Not that the NBA would do this (though they should), could they do it?

The CBA is so long and I hope one of you in here can help me out. Go Bulls btw.

I would assume not, if for no other reason than that it would be an incredibly bad look for whatever team decided to try and pull some shit like that. In some ways, death is like a really long, permanent injury, and usually players contracts' are fully guaranteed against injuries.
